The Renovation Project
Greg and Lilianne purchased the house because of the location and fantastic views across Thames Ditton Cricket Green. The focus of the design was to open out the ground floor to provide double aspect living areas, with the front section of the house facing the Cricket Green, and the rear opening onto a private garden. A small single storey rear extension was also created to allow for a utility room and sun space.
Model Projects worked alongside Greg and Lilianne to create a design that transformed the ground floor. Four individual rooms became one large open plan area with a separate formal living room. Each space has been defined with the clever use of stunning modern furniture and lighting. A hidden light feature provides a soft glow around the perimeter of the ceiling with spotlights in the centre.

Kitchen Design and Features
The kitchen runs from the front to the rear of the house. Its style is contemporary, with handleless cupboards and brass feature lighting above a large central island. The island provides a hob, small sink, storage space and seating for four people and provides a clear division from the seating and dining area’s beyond.
To the rear, there are two areas for the family to enjoy; the dining and cosy seating area. Both overlook the garden through bifolding doors. These provide a seamless view through to the terrace and garden beyond. The flooring from the inside has been cleverly matched with that of the garden terrace, to provide an inside/outside space during the summer months.
The existing staircase was updated to create a focal point to the entrance hallway, with glass balustrade and white steps, that cleverly tie in nicely with the style and colours of the kitchen next door.
A new extension to the rear of the garage provides a utility room and rear sun room overlooking the garden. This has been joined with the house and provides integration from the main house to the garage.
